Christmas in July

Christmas tree.

Christmas presents.

Christmas cookies.

Christmas movies.

Christmas sweaters.

Why wait til December to enjoy all the amazing things that the Christmas season has to offer?  We didn’t, we just celebrated Christmas right smack-dab in the middle of the summer and it was quite possibly the best July afternoon I’ve ever known.

Here’s a complete list of our “Christmas in July” activities: listen to christmas music. eat lunch.  decorate the tree. watch Prancer. eat candy. make cookies. watch Christmas Vacation. eat candy. drink hot cocoa. decorate cookies and prepare dinner. eat candy. watch Elf. eat dinner. drink spiced wine. eat candy. open presents. feel sick from all that candy. fall asleep at 9pm.

In all seriousness, we had a blast sitting around the house all day watching movies and even though the pure volume of Christmas candy and frosted cookies we consumed made us both feel awful later, it was totally worth it and will be a tradition that we repeat and look forward to every summer.
