God speaks in so many ways and tonight I was looking through my journal entries from the last few months when I came across a passage that I copied from the book “Captivating”. As God continues to heal my heart from recent wounds, I am learning to give my hurts over to Him to find healing. In the midst of craziness, He helps me to see my life for all the amazing things He has provided to keep me looking forward and moving forward. So many aspects of my life are going absolutely perfect right now, even better than I could’ve planned for myself. But there’s still a part of my heart that is cracked and I can’t fix that on my own.
And just when I need it, I am reminded that He gives hope and beauty and love when pain threatens to take it all away.
A passage from Isaiah (61:1-3), paraphrased in the book “Captivating”…
“God has sent me (Jesus) on a mission. I have some great news for you! God has sent me to restore and release something and that something is YOU. I am here to give you back your heart and set you free. I am furious at the Enemy who did this to you and I will fight against him. Let me comfort you. For, dear one, I will bestow beauty upon you where you have known only devastation; joy in the places of your deep sorrow. I will robe your heart in thankful praise in exchange for your resignation and despair.”
My favorite part: “I am here to give you back your heart and set you free.” Now THAT is a promise I will believe.
