Productive Weekend

This is how Libby and I do weekends… well, it was last weekend.  The last few days have been filled with relaxing and watching chick movies, but last weekend was REALLY productive.  I’ve been updating and changing some things around the house and one of the first things I wanted to do was to buy furniture for my screened porch.  I had some hand-me-down furniture that actually belonged to my parents in the porch, but it’s brown and the table is huge and it just didn’t look right.  Besides, with so many girls around the house now, I really wanted the porch to be a place where we could all hang out and talk and be together.  So after searching and searching, looking at Costco, Sam’s Club, Walmart, Pier One, and even the furniture market in High Point, NC, I finally found the pieces I wanted at Target… gotta love it!

I picked them up a few weeks ago and then it got so rainy that the boxes just sat out on my back deck getting wet for days on end, until finally Libby and I decided to take it upon ourselves to take all the pieces out of the boxes and put it together in the living room, hiding from 110 degree weather outside.

Oh, and did I mention the furniture was on clearance?  Heck yeah!!!

I also have a very cute coffee table and end table set to coordinate with the blue and black chairs… adorable!  Since the pillows are indoor-only pillows, I have to keep them inside to avoid rain and mildew so I bought a storage compartment from Target to keep them in the house, just inside the door to the backyard.
